“Let me start by saying that the ruby room is beautiful! It has multiple floors, and each floor is for a specific department. Healing, massage, salon...etc. I had an appointment with Wendy, who is their colon hydrotherapy healer. You couldn't ask for a better person for this job. I arrived at the spa and was greeted politely right away. They walked me upstairs to the Healing floor, where I sat in a cozy area to fill out my paperwork. Wendy came out, with a big smile on her face and said hello. I immediately felt comfortable by her energy, and she sat with me and talked a bit. Anyone who knows what colon hydrotherapy is knows that it can be a bit intimidating, and I am so glad that Wendy was professional and friendly and very knowledgeable. “I have been going to Ruby Room for over two years. I can honestly say every visit has been an enjoyable one. Naturally some more than others but never a bad experience. Over the past few months I started seeing a relatively new masseuse with Ruby Room named Kimberlyn. I have had trouble with major headaches for years and have seen many doctors, chiropractors and masseuses for this issue. The first time I met with Kimberlyn, she explained in very plain English what she felt my issues were and what I would need to do end my headaches. She felt I needed consistent work on the knots the size of golf balls in my shoulders to finally find relief. I have followed her advice and have been seeing her every 7-10 days for a 4-5 visits and guess what???? The knots are almost all the way gone and the headaches have drastically subsided! She is now working on my forearm and wrist that has been in pain since a very bad break of my wrist 6 years ago. With just one session, I can feel a total difference with the flexibility and some of the steady pain has subsided. “A full service spa that is actually interested in your well-being! So far the services I've had are cut, style and eyebrow waxing. And they were all outstanding! I've had a couple of different stylists there, and they were all wonderful. It's a bummer to get used to working with someone and find out they've left, but it's also really great to walk back in and find out that the new stylist has all of the notes on your cut and preferences! The price is reasonable and completely worth it. Perhaps in line with some of the prices at Mario Tricoci, but the atmosphere, quality of services and overall customer service experience are far superior! Tips must be in cash, so plan accordingly. Okay, yes, they do want you to buy products there. But so far the Bumble & Bumble products I've bought are fantastic, recommended for good reason, and Ruby Room sells them for retail cheaper than you can find them online or at other stores. “The day after I graduated law school, I got a massage at the Ruby Room. The masseuse, Amanda, was great. More than great. At first I was a little put off - Amanda was pulling my arm in odd ways, and I sort of thought "What is this BS? It's not doing anything," then suddenly the muscle tension in my upper shoulder was GONE. She also massaged me under my arm, which most masseuses I've had stay away from. It's logical for them to do that since most people are too ticklish, but it's key to working out the upper back & shoulder muscle tension that results from being on a computer or sitting reading a textbook all day, every day. “I had a wonderful experience at Ruby Room today. My massage therapist, Kimberlyn, was amazing. She listened to me as I described my problem areas and she did her own analysis by assessing my posture. The massage was then focused on my problem areas. She also told me different exercises to do in the gym to balance out my weak areas. It was the best massage i've head in Chicago and i've been to several places in the loop and Wicker Park/ Bucktown area.
